Why Inner Council

Have you experienced a time when a Part of you wants to exercise and another wants to stay in bed? I think we all have these inner conflicts.
Imagine that you were the child of the King and Queen in some imaginary realm. Imagine that your parents died when you were still quite young. A council of Regents was created to run the Realm until you became capable of handling the responsibilities.
Eventually, you grow up and realize that it is your birthright to manage the Realm. You approach the Council, announcing that you are now ready to take on the responsibilities, but the Regents are unsurprisingly reluctant to give up their authority. They have been running things for a long time and are worried that you would do irreparable harm.
Their resistance becomes less if they are acknowledged for their good intentions and invited to be advisors. Our Parts are this Inner Council. Just like you might do with a council of Regents, you can do with Parts. They can become trusted advisors, but only if they feel valued for the job they have been doing. Once they become advisors, they can provide helpful ideas when I am making a decision. This is why I chose innercouncil.net.
